It's the 3DOKid Second anniversary, and I'm having to dig deep to find games and time.
I don't know about you, but this year has gone quick. Maybe because I started a new job and visited some new places, but it doesn't seem a year since I did my last annual update.
So? What have I been upto? I went to Dallas, Texas. The American women thought my English accent was 'cute' and I found the constant use of the phrase "Y'all" pretty addictive, it lodged itself in my subconscience and has popped-out every ten minutes since. Y'all. And I had a Texas Steak. Which was nice. And an American Dream fulfilled. Since Dallas the TV show I've wanted one of those!
New York has been accessable from my local airport, so I quick and cheap trip there coming up soon, I suspect.
I also visited Jerusalem. Which, having been brought up a good Christian boy, was something of an anti-climax. It's very small. I expected sweeping majestic 'stuff' instead I got a piece of what looked suspiciously like scrub land. The 'Promised Land'? I'd double check the wording of that promise if I was anyone of influence.
Take the "Mount of Olives" as an example. In my mind I was expecting a snow-capped mountain with millions of olive trees? Right? Anyone else expecting that? Well 'Mount' suggests 'Mountain' doesn't it? The truth? Well, it's a bit of hill with a few tree's on it.
...but I shouldn't be so cynical. It was pretty cool to be there.
No Japan this year. I love Japan. So, we're going next year.
On 3DO front it's been a bit quiet. I wrote and recieved a letter from Trip Hawkins, he seems a nice enough chap.
Four new games were released for the 3DO, and the rumour is there is more to come but other than that it's been pretty quiet.
I have some uber 3DO rarities hiding on the 3DO Kid, 3DO shelf of endless 3DO joy and I'm going to share them with you soon. I've got a couple of weeks of holiday coming up and I intend to get back on the 3DO trail!
It's been a good year.
So - It's probably premature, but I'm going to be busy for the next few weeks, so Happy Thanks Giving to all you Yanks, Merry Christmas to all of you it applies too and seasons greetings to the rest of you!
3DO Kid.
Thanks for the update, sorry I'm late visiting.
I actually gave my 3DO away on a Freecycle site. I'm regretting it now but I hardly played it and it didn't play DVDs. Add that to the limited space I had in my room and something had to go.
But I do wish I'd kept it. I loved Return Fire and Theme Park. I actually wanted to play all the FMV games but they were always way too pricey on Ebay so just gave up. I still want to try Night Trap and Sherlock Holmes etc though. I can't believe new games are STILL being made, how do they make a profit!?!?
