O.K. Before I announce the 3DO Kid #1 game in my personal top 50 games, I thought I'd cover this game.

The gaming world for the past year has been looking forward to playing with a big strapping man in a green suit and a gold visor, while shooting weird little aliens.

I on the other hand, 3DO Kid, Last of the great 3do Fanboys, was looking forward to "Oneesan to Issho! Janken Paradise". "Why?" you cry. "Why not playing with Chief?" The answer: "Naked women". Yes indeed, Oneesan to Issho! Janken Paradise is the only Strip Paper, Scissors, stone simulator on Earth; and I've wanted a copy since first hearing about it.

It's pretty clever actually. There are five girls, and you can choose to play one or all or some at the same time. Play one and at the end you get a video sequence of her earnestly wandering round the house butt naked or standing in a shower in a warehouse. You know - like you do. It's all pretty tasteful. And no worse, and probably more tasteful than the tabloids show over here.

The cleverness is in the fact you can choose to remove clothes in any order, and there is a video clip to match. If that makes sense. So, you can win a round, say your scissors beats her paper, you then get the option to remove either an upper garment or a lower garment. Win again, and you can choose to remove either an upper or lower garment again, and the video clip matches what has happened so far. Great! It compounded my teenage dream to be a cameraman.

OK - to the crunch. The girls. Firstly, it's a phenomenia that frankly has astounded me. The phrase; "do not judge a book by its cover", has never, ever, had a more a poignant meaning to me than when used in conjunction with this game. At first glance you may think to yourself, OK girls, actually, you can keep your clothes on. But no! Trust 3DO Kid, the more they remove, the better looking they get. Look at the pictures below, the girl in the blue top. You wouldn't then most certainly you would. And the difference? One horrible blouse? Like Tiny Tim in Oliver I was crying "It's a Christmas Miracle" and "Please sir, can I have some more?"

You do not need to speak or read Japanese to play this. Nudity and Paper, Scissors, stone transcends language, and the crucial bits are in English anyway.

Only one minor dissappointment. All I can say is, it's in some of the girls profiles: 80cm? Hmmm. "Please Sir, can I have some more..."

Is it rare - outside of Japan, indeed, it is rare!

3DO Kid.
